Not a bad book. I found that the style of writing was awkward for me to read. The story line was pretty good. I would have personally liked more details on describing the scenes and characters.
WARNING THIS REVEIW CONTAINS A SPOILER!!!!!
I was given this book in exchange for an honest review LOP. generally I didn't mind this book. I was not a huge fan of the way it was written. I found it kinda hard to read and a little confusing at times. There were also spelling mistakes and punctuation mistakes in several areas of the novel. I think in some parts the author may have put the wrong name down since the sentence and context of the sentence didn't make a lot of sense. Other then those things I did like this book. I like how the author brought in some of the "spicer" side of sexual content. It made reading it quiet fun. Zane as a character was probably one of my favourites. He had many layers and sides to him. He had the dark side of BDSM, then as the novel goes on you see a softer side when he becomes mated with Elaina. Elaina herself is a close second to my favourite character. She sees something she wants and goes for it on full force. I love that about her and her feisty nature is just plain fun. The twist of Zane marking another mate, Miranda by being tricked by her and some of the wolfs within his own pack was genius. She turned a character that usually is a one time "blurp" in novels into somewhat of a main character. I quiet enjoyed the triangle, drama and suspense that twist instigated. All in all I do believe this is a good novel. It has some rough edges that could be smoothed out but the general story line is a good one. Thank you for allowing me to review this novel WARNING THIS REVEIW CONTAINS A SPOILER!!!!
I was given this book in exchange for an honest review LOP. First things first...... OMG THIS BOOK IS AMAZING. THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH STARS TO RATE THIS NOVEL 10000000000 stars loved it loved it loved it!!!!!!! Favourite Line: SE slides his hands along her jaw. "Repeat after me. I, Ana mata, will never go near my batshit crazy mother again" Ana smiles" I, Ana Aguilar will... What you said." I am in love with SE and Ana, there relationship is so deep. I loved how the author wove in so many details into the story without over whelming the reader. Every character had a description that allowed you to actually picture them. Troy was a more in the background character but you still got a sense of who he was by the descriptions given by the author. The route the author decided to go in with why the shape shifters were the way they were was something totally unique. I have never read a book that has taken that type of spin on it. I loved her idea of all different shifters and having a second soul that is connected to the other realm. As well as the shifters coming from regular family's and transitioning into the shifter added a emotional depth into the novel that was amazing. I also loved that the shifters animals were tattooed into them in a magical way after there first shift. The relationships in this book were mind blowing. The mating bond was described in a way I have never read before. The relationship and background between SE and Richard and his mate was very well detailed. It also let you see into SE mysterious past and see what made him the man he is today. Also the relationship between all the warriors was amazing. You could see the companionship they seem to have with one another and I loved that they jokes around and pokes fun at each other. I think that aspect made the relationship seem so real to me. The complicated relationship between Ana, Richard and his mate added once again another layer into all their story's and showed how they grow to be close at the end of the novel. And last but not lease the mating bond between SE and Ana was by far my favourite. SE not knowing really who he is when the mating occurred and all the memory's flooding back to him once he is in the mansion was amazingly written. With the loss of his first mate and finding out his second mate is the little orphaned girl from the compound and that she was a spy was beyond brilliant in my eyes. The author added so much depth to their relationship it literally jumped off the pages. The plot was amazingly written. There were ups and downs that no one would expect. I loved how the author allowed many peaks in action leading up to the big climax. Also when you are reading and not knowing if Ana has been given the mutating serum or not it keeps you on the edge of your seat. When they find out Ana is to be the first female new breed my jaw dropped. I can say I was never expecting that and it just blew my mind. I give the author credit that was by far the most amazing twist of events I have read in a novel in a long time. While SE and Ana are being initiated into the brotherhood and the goddess shows up to do the final acts of the ceremony and to tell Richards mate she will have her baby tonight was yet another twist that left my jaw gaping. I love love loved everything about the twists and turns, ups and downs and the emotion roller coaster the author takes you on in this novel. I can not wait to read the next one. I think I'm adding this author to my "to watch" list. By far one of my favourite books of the summer. Thank you so much for allowing me to review this book!!!!! WARNING THIS REVIEW CONTANTS SPOILERS!!!!!
I was given this book for an honest review LOP. Once again Martha delivers an amazing read that keeps you plastered on the edge of your seat the entire time. The characters were once again described to perfection. The relationship that developed between Evy and Troy without Evy's knowledge was amazing. I can not wait to see where their relationship goes to, especially with the book ending with Troy having the mating call towards a human. Also Doc's mating with diesel after the accident on the motorcycle was something completely unexpected. Their relationship has so many ups and downs and complications its amazing. Diesel dealing with his PTSD is another added depth into his character. Also having the "flashback" into his past allows you to understand him so much better. The introduction of James as a new breed and finding out in the club that he has only been attracted towards males adds another twist to the novel. I loved that pax is James mentor. Also if I am correct I believe Pax is gay as well and it seems like it might be heading in the direction of something happening between pax and James. I think the added twist of James' ex-best friend Seth ends up being the leader of the rogues. Also with Seth being the one who kidnapped Evy is just another twist that was completely unexpected but brilliant move by the author. The story line is absolutely divine. The author added in another element of the rogue mutants. Which I thought was brilliant, it adds another depth in which the story goes into. Also It adds more complexity into the novel and keeps you on the edge of your seat wondering where exactly this will go. One of the biggest twist in this novel for me is when diesel falls through the floor at the abandoned building and ended up having to loss his leg. When he told Doc to "cut that son of a bitch off" I think my heart stopped a little bit. I couldn't have put the book down after that if I tried. I can't wait till the next novel to see what kind of mechanical leg he gets outfitted with. This was in a whole a MIND BLOWING novel. I would recommend this to absolutely anyone and everyone. You have not read until you have got your hands on this series. New Breeds is my new go to novel for the anything to do with shapeshifters!!!! Can't express how much I loved this novel. CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT ONE. COUNTING DOWN THE DAYS!!!!!! I was given this book for a honest review from the author
You were not kidding when you said it was a opportunity of a life time. When I first started reading it the story was hard to follow with some on the mistakes in it. But once the author sent me the revised one I couldn't put the book down. I loved that there wasn't anything R rated in this novel. This book didn't need the violence, language or anything to sexual to make it a complete knock out. I can not wait till my son grows up and we are able to read this book together. The story line was amazingly written. I loved that it was like a mix of the golden compass with the "hidden universe" type feel. The pirates of the Caribbean with the pirates except they throw you for a twist with them being in the sky. Which in my mind is absolutely ingenious. And I feel like it has a little bit of Anastasia in it too with Lara being a orphan wanting an adventure and not completely knowing who she is or how much importance her necklace will hold. The character interactions were beyond amazing and you could follow the threads between each of them. All in all this is a book I believe can transcend between genders and ages which is an amazing feat achieved by the author. I have personally never read a book that I loved and would love to read to my son as well. I can't wait till the rest of them come out. Superbly done Daniel and can't wait to see what else you come out with. Your mind comes up with things that are absolutely magic. Thank you for allowing me to review this novel sorry it took so long life always seems to get in the way when you want to read a amazing book I was given this novel in exchange for an honest review (LOP)
WARNING THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS!!!!!!!! To start off I would just like to thank that author for sharing this novel with LOP and for writing it in general. This was an amazing novel, it had just the right amount of twists and turn to keep you on the edge of your seat without confusing the reader. The writing was also spectacular, the imagery allowed for a virtual movie to play within my mind of what life in Tarana would be like. I especially liked imagining what the men would like like ;). At the beginning of the novel you are introduced to Toni, she is a blood doctor who after a car accident was hospitalized and discovered to have a variant in her blood called peak 8. This variant allows her to reproduce with Varcolac’s, AKA vampire. Her “race” is known as dragons for the dragon tattoo that is usually upon their backs in some form or another at birth. When the underground community of Varcolac’s became aware of the peak 8 in her blood they set into motion to obtain her and bring her back to Tarana to hopefully mate with one of their warriors to help prevent their race from dyeing out. This plan kind of back fires on the leader of the town Roth. For starters when she is first told about the Varolac’s she didn't freak out in the normal way she actually took an envelope open and threatened to cute Dr. Jess (Varolac doctor) throat with it. This was one of her first conscious interactions with Jacken, he was the one who disarmed her and placed her rather abruptly in the chair in front of Roth’s desk. I found it quiet comical that someone who is betrayed as such a rational mind would believe that threatening 3 huge men with an envelope opener would achieve the escape she was craving. After this amazing stunt of hers that had me giggling for about 20 minutes, she was introduced to her “mating” options, which all have their own special abilities. The next part of the novel that needs to be discussed because it was absolutely scandalous and AWESOME! After the talk with the other 5 dragon women and Kimberly coming up with the plan to steal a warriors key card so that they could escape topside, Toni took action. Unfortunately she ended up in Dev’s room when he was showering and did not make it out before he came out soaking wet and as naked as the day he was born. Just the imagery conjured from the words used within this “scene” almost damn near took my breath away, with how Dev was described he is an absolute knockout like mouth watering make you stupefied knockout. After escaping from Dev instead of running back to her room she dodged into the room next door which ended up being Jacken’s room. Being the guarded man that he is his first reaction was pretty much why the hell are you in here and get out. With not knowing his past or what the stipulations he has to stay within the community his reactions always seemed like they came from a dark and angry place. Within this interaction the author gave you a very brief but heart wrenching view into part of the past that helped shape the “man of steel” that Jacken has been portrayed as so far. With this glimpse into his past you are also blessed with a glimpse into Toni’s past which causes an unexpected bond to form between Toni and Jacken. Well, the major event in this novel for me was when Toni escaped her protective detail while on a date with one of her mate chooses. With the size of these men you would think that she would not be able to do this but it is amazing what someone to do to a guy when they knee him in the nuts. Before this Jacken and his brothers were all put on leave because their little brother lost control when he got a whiff on the smell Toni gives off. It so happens that Jacken and his older brother, Nyko were at the bar in which Toni and her date came too. By now you have become aware of the feelings Jacken has towards Toni, feelings in which he believes he can never act upon because of a vow he made. It really shows how powerful her unmated scent is when almost every male within the bar curled up in a combination of pain and ecstasy when she walks in. In this part the author shows you another connection forming between Jacken and Toni, this happens when she comes over to his table and hands him two ibuprofen since he looks like he has a headache. If only she knew that it was her that was affecting him so much, he was having a mini pity party because he could never have her. Even though Jacken pushes her away he is the first one who leaps to action when she escaped. He was also the person who found her within the bar in their “slum," he tried everything to get her to come back with him. He even shared another piece of his past, that he knew how to felt to fell trapped, with this you can almost see a visible string forming between Jacken and Toni but Toni ends up running out of the bar. This caused an entire other set of problems when the Om Rau from the other side of the hell tunnels smell her and figure out she is unmated. After this Lorke comes and gets through the gate and almost successfully steals Toni away. Jacken screams at Dev to get her out of here but when Dev picked her up and ran for the mansion Toni decided to play doctor and grabbed his nuts and squeezed causing them both to go tumbling onto the ground. The descriptive words used to describe how surprised Dev was by this action has me laughing, I could picker the face that Dev gave her. After this funny episode you are thrown right into the mist of a battle with Lorke, who is one of the leader of the other town. After breaking through the gates he throws a Batani Blade at both Jacken and Toni. Jacken dodges the blade and Dev jumps in front of the blade that was heading for Toni. When it smacks into his shoulder Toni witnesses first hand the damage that a Batani blade can do, it blows Dev’s shoulder to pieces and even when Dev tells her to run she can’t. Toni is paralyzed with fear and so was I, I wanted so badly to find out what happened but at the same time didn't want to turn the page. When Lorke grabs her and gives her one mean uppercut to the chin my heart stopped, my first thought was this cannot be the end, Toni can’t be taken not when the bond between her and Jacken is starting to get even stronger. Then Jacken comes to her aid and starts throwing daggers at Lorke to get him to let her go, when he finally vanishes back into the hell tunnels Toni is left beaten and bruised. All she wanted was Jacken to come to her and comfort her but he was too inside his own head to do anything for her. Later on you get to see how much he beats himself up for this and it is enduring that inside that hard exterior is a man who wanted nothing then to be there for her but couldn’t. When Jacken makes her stop crying it was amazing the reaction he had, it was like a little kids excitement after saving up enough money for a toy they wanted. He felt on top of the world and they have a very touching moment that made me hold my breath to see what was gonna happen next. But unfortunately at that time nothing happened because you were once again slammed by a heart wrenching piece of Jacken’s past, Lorke was the man who did the tattoo parties that left him scared, Lorke is Jacken’s father. Then Toni finally starts to believe that Varcolac’s are real and that everyone here was not just pulling her leg. This revelation came by when she went to the hospital to see Dev after the attack from Lorke, she witnessed the amazing healing power of a pure breed Varcolac when Dev’s shoulder was almost completely healed in 3 days. After realizing this she took off and demanded to see Jacken since she was once told that Jacken and his brothers are the only ones who can control their fangs. After barging into his room she demanded to see his fangs and at first he refused and said it was not a good idea since it would be an intimate act between him and her. In the end he ended up giving in and letting her see them, she shoved her wrist in his face so that her scent could help him elongate his fangs. When his fangs were out she examined them and found out that they were hollow so that the Finta can come out allowing the giver of the blood to not feel so much pain once this substance is within their blood stream. After seeing this she tries to get him to bite her so that she can feel what it is like since the other dragon women told her that the Finta causes great sexual pleasure. The scarred boy backing into a corner reaction for Jacken was hilarious. Then the author sends your emotions for another roller coaster ride when you learn the exact implications of the vow he and his brothers took. He can never take a mate, since his genes cause the aggression gene to go through the roof. This was like a sucker punch in my gut, I wanted Jacken and Toni to be together so bad and it was even more heart wrenching when Toni walked out and told him that he was not the only one with a lonely life ahead of him. Well, the next thing that had me laughing myself off my bed was when Toni was injected with a drug that made her go gaga for the first men she sees. She was drugged by the topside Om Rau and the guy buggered it all up and allowed Jacken to be the first man she saw. This caused her to jump on him and try to have her naughty way with him, for the first bit of this interaction Jacken was trying to get her off him but then Dr. Jess came in and shot Jacken with the drugs that were meant for Toni. This caused him to go full Rau and started trying to bite Toni, this of course caused an up roar and when it was over Toni and Jacken were called into Roth’s office and told that nothing of it was real. Except Toni held part of her awareness through the entire experience so for her the feelings she had were completely real. After this incident Toni completely extracted herself from the community giving the dragons the opportunity to escape with the help of Toni’s brother, Alex. Alex hacked into the communities computers and sent beth and Kim a machine that would allow them to get past the security boxes. Beth decided that she would be the one to stay because she needed to be able to confront her fear of confrontation. When they are topside Toni and her brother discover that they are from a royal line of fey. With this knowledge they called a meeting with Roth and Toni demanded that Jacken come. This had me wondering why Toni is requesting Jacken when we were lead to believe that they could never be together. As the meeting progresses everyone is made aware of the unique blood line that Toni and Alex come from and that with this Toni can be a leader in Tarana without disrupting their culture. This also sends Jacken for a loop. After everything is agreed upon Toni turns to Jacken and tells him that she wants to be his mate but she needs to know that he loves her before she will return to Tarana. After some grumbling he finally admitted that he was completely in love with her. Then a huge curve ball is thrown at the readers, with Toni’s unique blood line she is able to reproduce with Jacken without their children being aggressive. Once they are back in Tarana Jacken and Toni are finally able to be together but Jacken has kind of a mini freak out. The scene of them being together for the first time and everything else that happens (gotta read the book to get the sexy parts ;) ) Toni’s dragon birth mark come out in full force. Bring her to Dr, jess they find out that the finta that comes out of Varcolac’s fangs helped bring out Toni’s Fey powers. After finding out that she was ovulating and being attacked by a glazed out and full Rue Toni runs to the surface and sees her mom. Without the knowledge that Jacken needs to feed every 2-3 days Toni is unaware that he is almost in blood coma until a group of warriors come into the bar in which she is with her mom. From the knowledge her mom gains, she tells Toni that ever since she gave her baby away in high school she has been closed off and has pushed people away including her. Toni’s mom believes that this is what she is doing to her husband and gave her a photo of her and her baby so that she could tell Jacken about it. After their reunion and their talk about the baby she gave away the top side Om Rau barge into their hotel room and take Toni hostage. When they get to their home, Ren (top side Om Rau) tries to rape Toni but is interrupted when her husband and a group of warriors come to her rescue. You also find out that Toni is able to remove the immortality rings that the topside Om Rau wear. She also comes to know that the man who is responsible for kidnapping her and telling one of his men to get her pregnant her was her own father. At the end you see that Toni has been able to bring more dragon women to the community without kidnapping them. As well you learn of the reason who Kim has a barrier between herself and her husband sledge. A previous boyfriend beat her and ended up killing her unborn child, the reaction you see from Sledge shows his love for her. He is tormented by what this man did to his wife and in the end got ahold of the guy and made sure he would never place football again. Kin was also able to get a john with Bitterman, Zanhuch and Pickett as a junior associate and you get to see her and Sledge’s relationship flourish. All in all I cannot believe the quality of the writing in this novel. The descriptions are spectacular and the interwoven layers of conflict, love and friendship keeps the reader on the edge of their seats. I will definitely be following the publication of this author, Her book has quickly made it into my favourites list. I look forward to reading it again a month or so. Loved it and would recommend it to anyone if they are searching for a read that pulled on your heart strings, keeps you in suspense, makes you laugh, makes you cry and/or makes you want to never put it down. Thank you for sharing your talent for writing with the world as well as LOP. It was a honour to read your novel and an even bigger honour to review it. I was given this novel in exchange for an honest review (LOP)
WARNING THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS!!!!!!!! Once again Sarah has outdone herself and left everyone who reads this wanting more. The relationship between Kelly and Jacob comes right off the page. The relationship starts out sweet with an undertone of heat, during a study period you are made aware of Kelly’s feelings when it comes to Jacob but you also know that she is not ready to give herself to anyone. Then you are introduced to Jacob and his feelings towards Kelly as well as his secret of being a werewolf. During a full moon his senses are on high and his wolf is very close to the surface making it extremely hard to resist Kelly and stop once things had started. When Kelly kisses him and then panics when things start to move towards sex, it causes the relationship to take a turn for the worst. When she says that she could not believe that he would try to force himself on her it seems like the agitation and aggression that comes with Jacobs wolf being so close to the surface breaks free. When he leave the apartment and ends up sitting in his car having an internal battle with himself, Kelly is wrongfully kidnapped. Her kidnappers think that she is like Jacob and that her name is Caitlyn. You never really know who this Caitlyn is and what her story is like, I hope that her life will be explored in another novel ;). When Brad and Lloyd(the kidnappers) find out that they have kidnapped the wrong girl they know that they have to do something because their boss will not take kindly this screw up. So in an attempt to save themselves, Brad takes Kelly into a room where a werewolf is locked in a cage and allows the wolf to scratch Kelly. This effectively infects Kelly and in the end changes her into a werewolf. After some internal battling Jacob decides that he needs to apologize to Kelly and make things right between them again because he does truly care for her. When he arrives at her apartment he knows instantly that something is wrong. With his heightened senses he can smell the two men that were there and when it dawns on him that she was taken he makes it his mission to find her and save her from the men that took her. This chase takes him to a compound where they are researching werewolf and trying to make a super solider out of them. To get to Kelly Jacob walked up to the front door and tries to fakes being a collage kid who's car was broken. Of course this did not fly with the guards and they ended up bring him into the complex and since he saw what was going on they sent him into the room with Kelly. Thinking that she would rip him to pieces instead they ended up coming together and giving the scientists more ammunition to use against them. The twists and turns this book took were amazingly placed and brought the book together. The end was a little bit disappointing since I wanted it to keep going lol. I cannot wait for their story to develop further! Loved it. I was given this book for a honest review(LOP)
WARNING THERE ARE SPOILERS IN THIS REVEIW!!!! I loved this book. I had already read the first and second one and loved where she took this one. Troy has always been clouded in mystery and in this book you were able to get a glimpse into what makes him the way he is. It was enlightening and touching. I also loved when he finally got to be united with the girl he's been pinning after in all of the books, Evelyn. Her developing powers was just like the icing on the cake for me. The thing between James and pax is fabulous. I love the chemistry they have, I always wondered why pax was holding back so hard, seeing a little bit of what happened made you understand what he's going through. When James got hurt and he was in surgery I held my breath until he came our of it okay. Then the author throws you another curb ball when James changes, I am so eager to read the next book. I can hardly wait I really hope it goes into James and Pax's relationship. I am cheering for them ending up together! If all that wasn't enough the author also brought the goddess into this book and revealed what the relationship between Reyn and her. You got to learn about the dangers that the goddess is in and who is causing the danger towards her. I absolutely loved the new dynamics brought on by their relationship coming to light and all the information gained. The next thing that I loved was the new element of the Nagual not wanting to leave Ana. As well as her being able to communicate with the spirit, gleam to spirit to her and that the Nagual only listens to her. It makes you think that she might also be aj k'o'ol. The author developed the relationships in the mates pairs and everyone in the compound in general perfectly. I loved the new relationships that formed and what looks like it might form in the near future. I can not wait to read the next one! I was given this book for a honest review(LOP)
WARNING THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS!! What can I say about this book other then I WANT MORE lol. I loved this novel, it had so many layers to it. When you first start reading you learn of the witches and that the main character, Mia is one. Then the mysterious "sexy" guy come into the Mia friend store and requests a potion to cure a "friend" who was poisoned. Even when he came in Mia had a bad feeling about him and she ended up being right. Her "potion" was made with wolfs bane and without her knowledge she had poisoned the alpha of a werewolf pack. To add a twist into it, her childhood crush comes into the picture and she is the one who had to pick him up from the airport. The emotions that you read and could most feel jumping off the pages were astonishing. Then she added in another twist if them being attacked in the airport parking lot and the werewolf infected Ethan. When that happened I almost didn't breath until we found out if he was truly infected or not. When we found out that he was infected it was like anther layer was added on, including that of the accidental love potion. That was probably on of my favourite parts. The reaction from both Ethan and Mia were awesome, gave me a little bit of a giggle. Then we moved onto another werewolf making an appearance. The alphas son, I held my breath was he grabbed her by the neck and dragged her into her own house. I was sitting on the edge of my seat waiting to see if Ethan would come and save her and what exactly this other wolf wanted. Like in every other section of the book the author delivered, not only did Ethan come to her "rescue" but she also added a twist of the alphas second was the one trying to kill him. All in all I loved this book it was a good combination of suspense and romance. I am always a sucker for these kinda of novels. The only thing I can say is that I hope she goes farther into their story. I would like to know what becomes of their relationship and how Ethan fits in with the pack. As well as what happens to his career on the military and every other aspect!!! I WAS GIVEN THIS BOOK IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVEIW (LOP) WARNING THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS
to start things off this book was equally as amazing as the first book! This is will definitely be a series that I will read all the way till the end. The suspense, drama and twists and turns within the novel keep you on the edge of your seat from page one. I can not say this enough, ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!!! The first thing that really stood out to me and was a little bit of a shock is that Stelle, the leader of the fallen angels and Falon, the leader of the hell hounds are brothers. They are the only set of angels that God made that are brothers. Kayson does not know why he did this, was it am experiment and in his mind if it was it had failed. The brothers felt the same kind of sibling rivalry that any other set of siblings have and it had driven a wedge between the two. At the time of Stelle's fall from heaven he believed that there needed to be more blood shed, that they should be killing the blood children and the half blood children. This was the same reason why Falon fell from heaven but unlike Falon, Stelle realized that he was wrong and was offered his wings back but turned them down because he wouldn't leave until he helped save his brother. Within this novel you get to know more about Rainn, the angel who was staying with Emma and her friends. She was a second realm angel, there are three realms to heaven. The lower realm consist of angels and warrior angels who protect and watch over the humans, as well as fighting the influence of the hell hounds. The upper realm consists of the angels that protect God's throne and are part of his council, as well as regulate the duties of the second realm angels. The second realm angels record history, keep balance of the new souls and ensure all souls find their place. Rainn was assigned as a receiver, she would greet the new souls coming into heaven and direct them to their families. This was until she meet cloe, who is Ms. Kay's daughter (close family freind of Emma's and she owns the flower shop in town), she died in a car accident and after receiving her Rainn decided she couldn't do it anymore and asked to be reassigned. Her reassignment ended with her being trained to be a warrior angel of the lower realm by Gabriel, who is an archangel and their time together soon developed into feelings of love. As she watched over the humans and watched them have children she developed feelings of envy and jealousy. She wanted to have her own family with Gabriel and that is why she fell. She says the the look on Gabriel's face when she fell from heaven will forever be burnt into her mind. You also get to find out more about the hell hound pack, when they come back into the story they are huddled inside a cave waiting for the rains to stop since they can not track their prey when the rain is falling. Saar is a female hound within the pack who has the ability to control the weather and sets forth to try to make the rain stop but meets resistance from the weather controlling angels who are assisting the fallen. When the fighting between the weather controlling angels and the hell hound starts there is a mighty storm outside and Emma and her friends as well as the fallen are stuck inside the cabin while the storm beats and tears down the house. When it starts to break windows everyone huddles in a shelter made by a table and anything else they could find to block the storm out. This is when Sabrina finally awakes and things do not go very well. Sabrina's condition has not improved much but you are given a glimpse into what she Is going through within her own mind. She starts thrashing around and screaming on the bed before she asks Kayson to help her. Ever since she was bitten it has allowed lucifer to have a direct line into her mind and he has been keeping her in a prison of pain ever since. He wants her to give herself up to him and says that if she does the hounds will leave the humans and all the fallen alone. When she does finally awake she is not herself and her eyes are red which only happens when she is about to feed. She grads Kayson and tries top bite him, one of the other fallen angels hits her to knock her out since Kayson refuses to allow anyone to harm her. Throughout her struggles lucifer tells her that he will let her go and allow her to say her goodbyes as long as she swears she will come to him after and also makes her promise that she will not tell anyone what is going on. When she wakes she pushes Kayson away because she knows she will have to leave him. At the end of the storm the fallen Believe that they will have to make their journey on foot since the road is blocked by the trees that had fallen down. That is until Tat and Chase come through the dead trees with chainsaws clearing a path for Bristin and his jeep to come through. Once they get Emma and everyone home the twists just never stop. Not even a couple days after escaping the cabin and being told that they could all go free tragedy strikes the group of freinds, Braylee and Emma are kidnapped by Mr. Pucker, his son and his wife. They prevent anyone from intervening with the by his wife doing a spell that stopped anyone from coming close to them. When Rainn and Harper race back to the cabin to inform everyone of Emma and Braylee's kidnapping they are ambushed by at least 15 hounds. With the hounds holding Rainn captive they get Harper to take them back to the cabin and to they fallen angels. When Harper comes to the cabin in the van all the angels sense something is wrong. When all the hounds come out of the van and they have Rainn an all out battle ensues. Sabrina fights along side the angels and in one instance lets her vampire nature out and tears the spine out of one of the hounds to save an angel. When Kayson finally xdxddgets her calm enough to let that nature recede they join the fight again and try to get to Rainn. As the battle waged on Falon tried to kill Rainn but is thrown aside by Gabriel. Through the fight somehow Falon gets ahold of Sabrina and as everyone fights to get to her she drives a dagger into Falon's chest as he dematerializes them back into hell. Just as the battle is coming to an end Mr. Rucker and an army of half bloods to assist the angels in the fight against the hounds. When they arrive and see that the battle is over, Gabriel is asked why they interviewed in the fight. Gabriel says it was because of Sabrina that they were allowed to interview. They saw something good trying to push its way out of her and they saw it in her fierce protection of Kayson, the fallen and the humans. This is also around the same time that Stelle gets back and he still refuses to believe that any half blood can have good in them. Gabriel also takes this time to pull Rainn aside to talk to her and to have some alone time that he had been craving. He tells her that he will be here waiting for when she regains her wings and finally kisses her. While the battle is commencing at the cabin, Emma and Braylee are actually being held at Mr. Rockers. When Emma wakes up she is separated from Levi, Mr. Rucker, Braylee and Mr. Ruckers wife by a dense fog. You then get to know more about Mr. Rucker and what his connection with Emma is. He is Emma's great uncle and had to distance himself from his family because he fell in love with a witch named Rina who was running from the hell hounds, so to protect his family he had to leave them. When the barrier is brought down lucifer tries to rip Emma's should out of her body while she is still alive. When this happens Rina yells at him that he can not have her and prevents him from taking her should but is very drained by this experience. This novel also ends In a bang when they head towards another fallen, named Iraja home. He is know. For his hate if the blood children and holds a witch captive to help protect his home and the other fallen he provides sanctuary too. This witch might end up being the long lost sister Rina has been searching for. They all decided that they need to go there next so that they can try to get Kayson to the underworld so he may save Sabrina. Gabriel tells him that he will come with him is Iraja's but that is as far as he can go, he can not accompany him in his rescue mission. You are also thrown a curve ball when you find out why lucifer wants Sabrina and Emma so bad, he wants to have a war so that he can take over both earth and heaven and he wants Sabrina, as well as Emma to lead the war. Absolutely amazing book and I can not wait to read the next one and see how all the characters will develop and change. Thank you for sharing this novel with me. |
